Mexican Riviera Golf
Ixtapa has two excellent golf courses: the Palma Real Golf and Tennis Club, an 18 hole Robert Trent Jones Jr. design, and the new Marina Ixtapa Golf Course – personally prefer the first one…
Campo de Golf Ixtapa
This Robert Trent Jones, Jr.- designed course (formerly known as the Palma Real) ranks as one of Mexico’s finest. The 18 holes (6,898 yards) provide a diverse assortment of challenges, wandering through settings ranging from lagoons to jungle hilltops to the sands of Playa Palmar. The course also serves as a wildlife preserve (watch for crocodiles in the water hazards!). There is a complete club house with five lit tennis courts, a large pool, pro shop, locker facilities, restaurant and bar.

Marina Ixtapa Golf Club
The newer of the two, this 18-hole, 6,781-yard, Robert von Hagge-designed course opened in March 1994 as part of the modern Marina Ixtapa development. It is ranked by Golf Digest as one of Mexico’s best courses. The Marina Ixtapa course features a series of saltwater inlets (ideal for cruising pleasure craft), allowing water to come into play on 13 of the 18 holes – a real beauty! The complete facility includes a club house, two lit tennis courts, lockers, a restaurant, bar, and swimming pool.
